about us

The all-new tudor restaurant opened in March 2003 after major renovation work to the
function rooms already in existence.

The restaurant has been in the Gibson family since 1980 when Christine and Jim purchased
the main site. They opened two function rooms in the Conservative Club building
in 1985 and 1988.

Today, those rooms – the cellar bar and the queen’s room - are the hub of the renovated
restaurant and are used to seat Sunday lunches and dinner dances. They are also available
as private function venues and as corporate facilities.

Keen to develop the restaurant upon their parents’ retirement, Richard and Hayley Gibson
took over management in 1998 and have worked hard to bring you the all-new tudor restaurant. They have also added a touch of class with their own stroom restaurant and café bar.
